Reflecting back over where I have been in the past few months, and what the nation has gone through...I find myself coming back to the very same things...

One:  We need community to survive. 

Two:  Often the physical of our community is an alienating world of suburban sprawl.

Three: We live in a visual culture;  we are inundated with images ranging from the eye candy of advertising to the horrific of war.  We are affected by the visual.  

Four:  How does the teaching of art fit in with all of this? 

And I come back to the same conclusion, which may be idealistic, but its what I've got...
